The winners for the 2020 ScaleUp Awards have been announced – highlighting some of the UK’s fastest-growing and most impactful companies.
These companies were originally going to be crowned at a dinner at the London Hilton on Park Lane, hosted by comedian Tom Allen, but was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
This prompted the organisers Business Leader – and headline sponsors Amazon – to agree to announce the winners ‘virtually’ and then celebrate them at a dinner in early 2021.
The Awards received more than 400 entries and a team of judges that included Piers Linney (Ex-Dragons’ Den star and investor), Jackie Fast (former The Apprentice star and businesswoman), Caprice (model and businesswoman), Irene Graham OBE (CEO of ScaleUp Institute) and many more spent over a month scrutinising and scoring the entrants.
The winners are made up of some of the UK’s finest minds and businesses, who have all been working around the clock during the COVID-19 pandemic to keep driving their businesses forward and looking after their staff.
Andrew Scott, who is the founder of the ScaleUp Awards, comments: “The ScaleUp Awards by Business Leader celebrate the very best that UK business has to offer and we’re proud to be sharing this good news at a time when it is needed more than ever.
“The Awards were set to go ahead just as the pandemic struck and large gatherings were being stopped, which was something we supported to ensure the safety of our guests. Whilst we can’t celebrate in person at the moment, we look forward to the celebration dinner in early 2021.”
Dave Brittain, Head of Amazon Business UK, comments: “We are delighted to back the 2020 ScaleUp Awards and celebrate the success of scale-ups across the country at a time when support for these businesses is more important than ever. The award winners are all excellent examples of the brands and individuals who are leading the way and we look forward to celebrating in person in 2021.”
To ensure the winners get to celebrate now with the awards; the Business Leader team drove the length of the country to deliver each of the trophies.
The winners will also be sending in celebration photos over the coming weeks which will be published and promoted through Business Leader Magazine.
