Senior Lecturer in entrepreneurship becomes latest addition to Scale-Up Awards judging panel

Martin Spiller, Senior Lecturer in entrepreneurship at The Bettany Centre within Cranfield University’s School of Management, has joined the esteemed judging panel for the 2023 Scale-Up Awards.

In addition to his role at Cranfield, Martin is a passionate, highly motivated and commercially focused chief financial officer and experienced non-executive director. He has spent the last 10 years working with high-growth and venture capital-backed companies, including making several angel investments and sitting on the investment committee of a leading SEIS and EIS investment fund. He has also founded, built and exited two businesses of his own and a number as a non-executive.

By becoming a judge at the 2023 Scale-Up Awards, Spiller joins an esteemed panel that includes Dragon’s Den investor Touker Suleyman; Irene Graham OBE, the CEO of the ScaleUp Institute; TV personality Joanna Jarjue; and Steve Malkin, the Founder of PlanetMark.

Brought to you by Business Leader, the Scale-Up Awards celebrate high-growth companies and the entrepreneurs that run them. Entries to the 15 award categories close today. Upon closing, the esteemed panel of judges will carefully scrutinise every award entry to determine the finalists in each award category.

Andrew Scott, Founder of the Scale-Up Awards, comments: “Martin’s expertise when it comes to scaling up companies means he is ideal for judging at this year’s event and adds further prestige to our already-impressive panel. I’m delighted he’s decided to join us and with award entries closing tomorrow, I can’t wait to finalise the entries to the 2023 Scale-Up Awards.”
